3.4 материал защитной одежды (protective clothing material): Любой материал или комбинация материалов, используемых в предмете одежды в целях защиты частей тела от потенциальной угрозы.
Примечание - Настоящий стандарт распространяется на материалы защитной одежды, применяемые в конструкции костюма или одежды в качестве первичной защиты для пользователя. К материалам защитной одежды не относятся материалы, применяемые в конструкции встроенных смотровых экранов, перчаток и обуви. Материалы, применяемые во встроенных смотровых экранах, перчатках и обуви, испытывают отдельно на соответствие требованиям либо настоящего стандарта, либо на соответствие специальным стандартам на эти компоненты.
